Tourism Month Celebration - Pagadian City (September 2020)
The whole Month of September is the Celebration of Tourism Month
The City Government of Pagadian through the City Tourism Office has lined up series of activities for this celebration. All things considered, with the shift to new normal and COVID-19 protocols, the team wanted the activities to be relevant and somehow sustainable.
Agri-Tourism: Urban Gardening
Plant plant plant is not new to us, but the team wanted to encourage more people to participate and also engage in these kinds of activities in the community. So, the Tourism Office partnered with the City Agriculture’s Office to promote urban gardening.
2. Business Tourism: Business Establishment Information listing on Google Map.
This is to help the business sector promote their establishment and this will also be of great help in finding their exact locations.
3. Eco-Tourism: Coastal and Underwater Cleanup Day
Every 3rd Saturday of September is the International Coastal Cleanup Day. Last year we were among the cities who participated in this event and one of the few, if not the only City who simultaneously conducted an Underwater Cleanup.
4. Tourism Promotion: Tourism Site Location Photoshoot
To entice tourists to visit our city is to show them what we have and what they are missing. One way of showing these is through photographs. The team gathered volunteers who were willing to share their creative inputs on how we can sell Pagadian City. First stop was Isla Puting Balas or White Sand Bar. The essence of the shoot was to show that there are a lot of activities you can do in the island, not just swimming and grilling but it can also be the perfect wedding destination.
My great appreciation to everyone who participated. Hoping for the success of all the activities!
Happy Tourism Month!!!
