My great GREAT WALL ADVENTURE!

Knowing we were going to Beijing, China. I was so excited. I thought to myself, I will not go back to the Philippines without having to visit the GREAT WALL. (I mean I’m half Chinese after all.)

So, on our very first day in Beijing. We went to THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA

The Great Wall has been around since 7th century BC. It was built across the northern borders of China to protect its territories against invaders. The Great wall has a lot of sections. We went to the one nearest the airport and our hotel, the Mutianyu.

It’s quite a hassle if you try to take a bus or a train going to Mutianyu. So, we booked a cab from the hotel to bring us to the wall and back. (Yes, the driver will actually wait for you)

When we visited, we were lucky enough that it was a weekday. There weren’t a lot of tourists and by the time we arrived at around 2:00 in the afternoon, most of the people we passed by were already heading out.

And yes, there’s a lot of hiking. A lot of stairs to climb, and a whole lot of walking. I suggest when you get inside, do take the cable car going up. (You have to pay for the entrance fee and the cable car)

Going down there are three options. Either you still want to hop on the cable car (like what we did) or take the gravity cart down, or just walk (if you are brave enough).

When you reach the top, you can say it’s all worth it. To see the architecture and the history. It’s really a different feeling.

Thanks for reading!

See you on our next adventure
