My Russia Trip (October 2019)

Super excited when I heard the news that we are part of the Philippine delegation to accompany the President Rodrigo Duterte in his Russia trip (October 1-6, 2019)

It will be my first time to visit the Russian Federation. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. I just knew I had to see St. Basil’s Cathedral and that I had to bring some OOTDs.

October 1

  • flight from Philippines-Russia (11hrs 30min)

  • We arrived in Moscow at around 3am of October 2

  • Arrived at Four Seasons Hotel at around 4am

October 2

  • Officially our first day in Russia!

  • The President is scheduled to fly for Sochi for some meetings. We opted to stay in Moscow. This was our chance to really explore the city.

  • So, for the next 2 days, we really just roamed around and enjoyed the streets of Moscow.

  • First stop! St. Basil’s Cathedral. Luckily, the Cathedral was just a few blocks away from our hotel

  • After, we walked all the way to the riverside and rode a cruise.

It’s starting to get pretty cold in Moscow, and I am LOVING it! love the chilly weather.

October 3

  • Second day!

  • We went inside the GUM Mall. (It’s actually really pretty) I love the roofing. swear

The whole fam

Oh gosh, love the streets of Moscow. Some streets are now filled with Christmas lights and it just looks magical at night. I’m quite sad that I didn’t get to take a nice shot of it at night.

My house? I wish

October 4

  • President is back from Sochi

  • Afternoon: Scheduled Philippines-Russia Business Forum

  • Evening: Scheduled Gala Night

October 5

  • Last day in Russia! (awww)

  • Afternoon: Scheduled Filipino Community Meeting

  • I love FilComs so much. Seeing the smiles of the OFWs when they meet the President. (It’s just amazing)

    • I remember I got the chance to talk to some OFWs before the event started, they were really excited. For so many years they’ve worked in Russia, this will be the first time that the Pres. of the Philippines will actually come and visit them.

  • After the event, we headed straight to the airbase.

  • Flight from Russia-Philippines

Perhaps by now, some would have already guessed that I really love to travel. It’s not just because I want to take some great photos, but also because through traveling, you get to meet other people, see and really experience their culture, and it’s like a walk through history. Imagine all those things you’ve read in the textbooks and seeing them in real life, it just gives it more meaning, don’t you think?

What I learned from this trip was that, Russians are actually very kind people. It was just a bit hard to communicate with them. Most of the OFWs I met in Russia, they said their employers are good to them.

Overall, I loved this experience so much. Definitely a trip to remember, especially because I got to spend it with my family.

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Tyra
