Seeing North Korea for the First Time! (Dec. 23, 2018) - My Korea Trip

Last December, my whole family went to Korea to experience a White Christmas. I was pretty excited as it was my first time to spend Christmas in winter boots and chunky ugly sweaters.

In this blog series, I’m going to share with you what we did on our trip!

Day 1: First Stop! DMZ (Demilitarized Zone)

Still looking pretty fresh and excited for the snow! For those who don’t know, DMZ is a strip of land that runs across Korea which also serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea.

I absolutely recommend this stop to anyone planning to visit Korea. It’s full of history and if you would just listen and actually read the writings on the wall (the ones in English), you’d appreciate more their history and have a better understanding as to why North Korea and South Korea are what they are now.

With my siblings!

With my little cousins!

They also have a scope.. you could actually see NORTH KOREA!!! oh, and they also have this tunnel that leads to NK. I tried going down there but ohhh boy.. it was such a long, steep, never ending tunnel. I tell you, the going down part is not even half as tiring as when you are already on your way back up. I almost passed out. Not kidding. It was exhausting. But hey, for the experience, right?

Sorry I didn’t get any photos down there, we weren’t allowed to take pictures. Maybe for security reasons or somethin’.

All in all, it was a fun first day, we really enjoyed it!!!

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Tyra
